Longitude Research
Longitude Research is a thought leadership and research agency headquartered in London, England, with a secondary office in Zürich, Switzerland.
Longitude specialises in providing independent research and analysis services for corporate clients, and assisting in the production of white papers, research reports and supporting content across a diverse range of sectors and industries, including IT; energy;〔()〕 banking and finance;〔()〕 telecommunications; healthcare;〔()〕 legal; retail and consumer goods;〔()〕 and manufacturing, among others.
==About the company==
Longitude was founded in 2011 by Rob Mitchell and James Watson, both former managing editors at the Economist Intelligence Unit. Gareth Lofthouse, who was Editorial Director for EMEA at the EIU, joined Longitude as managing director at the beginning of 2013.
The company name was inspired by the Longitude Prize that was established by the British government in 1714, to encourage leading thinkers to devise an innovative method for precisely determining a ship's longitude. This reflects Longitude's mission statement, which is to help its clients become thought leaders in their given sectors.
